Many people come to family lawyers at about the lowest point of their lives. My impression was that this wasn't a practice where that was met with much warmth. I've known plenty of lawyers who manage to be both rigorous and genuinely empathetic, so I don't accept that it comes with the territory. If empathy matters to you in choosing who handles your matter, I'd look further. There are good people there, and I wouldn't tar everyone with the same brush. But who you personally end up with matters enormously — so before you sign, ask who will actually be handling your matter day to day. You're entitled to ask for someone specific, and a good firm won't mind the question. A general note on choosing anyone: look for someone who'll explain the same thing twice without making you feel stupid, and who still seems to remember there's a real person attached to the file months in. Those firms exist, and they don't charge more for it.

I saw georgina Gregory. She noticed I was in a highly volatile relationship and I got a forensic legal report to state the abuse. Took $80,000 in fees from my trust account and they have generously doled it out to other side against my will! Left me with no money to live on. Georgina told me to call a homeless shelter! I’m not kidding you. I spent 5 years building and designing my house, joint name sold it for 2.9million while the other party had 4 houses, I moved in bnbs, slept in car or rent a room. I called the legal commission board and because I complained they withheld ALL my funds. They gave me a contract that they will give me living expenses from my own trust account if I never complained to commission board or anyone again. I signed it as I was hopelessly desolate and then they did the same thing - stopped payments. My dogs and I camped outside their office because I was homeless and they said no one can see you. Continuously pressure me to accept a really low offer from the other party - I needed a home not more rent money to live in awful households. After building my house and 17 years I deserved a home, instead they ignored my calls, stopped living payments and I stayed in accomodation where my little dogs head got bashed in. They - including Paul Staindl who I asked for help totally ignored me. Then they said....’we cancelled your final trial and the judge (a week or so before it was booked) Kind Regards’. They deserve a zero and to be sued. It’s the truth so I’m saying it, it’s all I have left. Kind regards, Natalie *Lander and Roger’s took the case
