I would like to sincerely thank our Independent Children’s Lawyer “ Julia Johnston “ from bannerman solicitor's for her professionalism, integrity, and dedication throughout what was an extremely difficult and emotionally matter. From the start she remained consistently child-focused, calm, and fair, even in circumstances where emotions were high and pressures were significant. She approached her role with care, patience, and a clear commitment to ensuring that the children’s best interests were always central. What stood out most was her willingness to go above and beyond what was strictly required. She took the time to research and understand the children’s circumstances, engage with the evidence, and ensure that the Court was fully informed. Throughout the process, she conducted herself with respect, empathy, and professionalism. Despite receiving considerable hostility during the proceedings, she remained composed and impartial, never allowing external pressure to affect her conduct or judgment. Her strength, fairness, and dedication made a meaningful difference to our family and, most importantly, to the children. We are deeply grateful for the care, effort, and integrity she demonstrated. She fulfilled her role with genuine commitment and compassion, and we would not hesitate to speak highly of her work as an Independent Children’s Lawyer. Our matter ran for 5 years, it was an extremely challenging case and involved many complex issues… We acknowledge she received a lot of abuse from the other parties for simply doing her job and we would not of blamed her if she wanted to pass our case to someone else, but she kept strong and focused on why she does this job “ for children who are in need of being avicated for “. She can’t take sides with ether parties but her support for the children in our matter made us feel heard, and that is so important in cases with neglect and harm to children so we felt so blessed she was chosen to be the Independent Children’s Lawyer in our matter. She treated everyone with courtesy and respect at all times and her preparation and understanding of the evidence gave us confidence the children were safe with her on bord our case. Even on the the last day when a delivery was read out and all the sad horrible things were read out in court and everyones hearts were breaking, she stood tall for the kids and held it together when the rest of us were breaking reliving everything out loud. Absolutely useless. Julia Johnston represented my great nephew , and it was the worst representation I've seen a child receive . She never met nor spoke with the child like she was supposed to , only showed up in court twice ,once was in ordered by the judge for her to appear. Anytime her office was called by myself or a family member she was always away on leave . Never responded to emails unless to scold the interactions between the parties. She did not do her job She did not represent the child The child reminded in an abusive home longer than he should have , Julia and other government departments DIDNT DO THEIR JOB! And then she tried to represent his sister ... That's a no! Absolutely useless and she knows it .

Richard Bannerman represented me during the 5 year long custody case with my very difficult ex-partner. He is extremely knowledgeable, and professional, and understood the cultural overlays. Communication was clear, concise and succinct, and I could always trust him to represent my side in court. My ex-partner pushed towards prolonging the case, and Richard's constant advice was to try and reach a settlement out of court, which we did obtain eventually. It has been a year since the settlement was finalised; and reflecting back, I feel immensely grateful to the individual who recommended me this firm. Thank you Richard. I took advice at short notice with a family matter. Told the lawyer at this meeting i could not afford to go to trial. At the directions hearing I was instructed by the lawyer to sign a piece of paper its the best chance you have of seeing your son. " you will see your son this week end at the latest next weekend i promise. The other lawyer will make this happen trust me." I'm still over a month later waiting and now been told I have to fo to trial or risk 100k in costs. And it's going to cost 50k to go to trial. And there's no guarantee. I would avoid esp if your male in family court they in my opinion bat for the woman, after reading other reviews apparently even if the woman is the opposite side. After the solicitor was caught lying to me infront of witnesses and then lied to me again about the same issue the. I sent the principle an email stating the hey you need to fix this issue at your cost( not the exact wording ) i was shown the door. I'm my opinion they have No morals towards men, you get the it's your fault harden up just give the woman what's he wants attitude. Bad ethics
